Inbound calls
Where to send calls to your numbers: to an employee, a group, a queue or a voice menu, or by schedule.
For PBX version 0.3 (alpha)
An inbound route tells the PBX where to send a call that came to your number. Routes are in “Routing” → “Inbound routes”.
Create a route
- Click “New route”.
- “Name” — to tell routes apart in the list.
- “Number (DID)” — choose a provider number or “Any number”, or type the number yourself (“Typed or a pattern”).
- “Who this number rings” — “A destination” or “Chosen people”.
- Click “Save”, then “Apply”.
Where to send the call
With “A destination”, choose where to send the call in “Send calls to”:
| Destination | What happens |
|---|---|
| “Extension” | one employee’s phone rings |
| “Ring group” | several employees’ phones ring — Queues and ring groups |
| “Queue” | the caller waits for a free agent |
| “Voice menu” | the caller chooses with the phone keys — Voice menu (IVR) |
| “Announcement” | the caller hears a recording — Sounds, music and announcements |
| “By schedule” | different destinations in and out of working hours: Working hours and holidays |
| “All phones at once” | all phones of the PBX ring |
| “Hang up” | the call ends |
With “Chosen people”, choose the employees and “How to ring”: “All at once” or “One by one”, how many seconds to ring, and what to do “If nobody answers”.
Several routes
- A route with “Any number” takes calls to all numbers that have no route of their own.
- If two routes have the same number, the route with the lower “Priority” wins.
- Routes work for all providers at once.
When you create a trunk, you can create the “All inbound” route right away — it sends all calls to one number. You can change it here later.
