Installation

First sign-in to the panel

How to open the panel, set the administrator’s password with the installation code, sign in, and what to do if the password is forgotten.

For PBX version 0.3 (alpha)

Open the panel

Open the panel address in a browser, for example https://pbx.example.com or https://192.0.2.10. If the panel has no domain of its own, the browser warns you once about the certificate: the panel works with its own SAMPBX certificate. You can compare its fingerprint in “System” → “Network”, on the “The panel’s HTTPS” card.

First start

When you open the panel for the first time, it shows the “First start” page.

  1. In the “Installation code” field, enter the code from the server’s screen. You can see it on the server’s monitor and when you sign in to the server over SSH; it changes after every reboot.
  2. “Administrator’s login” is already filled in: admin.
  3. Make up the “Administrator’s password” — at least 8 characters — and type it again in the “Repeat the password” field.
  4. Click “Finish the installation”. The panel signs you in and opens “Overview”.

After 5 wrong codes, entering a code is paused for 15 minutes.

You can change the panel language right away — with the globe icon at the top of the page.

Sign-in

On the “Sign in to the admin panel” page, enter the “Username” and “Password” and click “Sign in”. A sign-in lasts 12 hours; after that, the panel asks you to sign in again.

If you enter a wrong password several times in a row, the sign-in button is blocked for a short while and shows in how many seconds you can try again.

Change the password

Open the user menu and choose “Change password”. Enter the “Current password” and the new password, and click “Change password”.

If the password is forgotten

The panel has no password recovery — the password is reset on the server itself:

  1. On the server’s monitor, press Enter and choose “Reset the administrator’s password”.
  2. The console shows a temporary password.
  3. Sign in to the panel with it — the panel asks you to “Set a new password”.

More in the article Server console.

What next

The “Overview” page has the “What next” list: extensions, a provider, inbound and outbound routes, a backup. Items are checked off by themselves when you set them up. Start with the article First steps in the panel.
