Sounds, music and announcements
How to upload your own recordings for greetings and menus, music on hold and announcements, and which language the PBX speaks.
For PBX version 0.3 (alpha)
Your own recordings — greetings, menu prompts, music on hold — are in “Features” → “Sounds and music”.
Upload a sound
- Click “Upload sound” and choose a file: MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, AAC or FLAC.
- The panel converts the recording to a telephony format by itself. A recording can be up to 15 minutes long.
- “Normalise volume” — so that the recording sounds neither quieter nor louder than the others.
- “Uzbek version” — optional: a second recording of the same text in Uzbek. Callers who chose Uzbek in the voice menu hear it.
You can also record a sound from a phone: turn on “Recording sounds from a phone” in “General settings” → “Features” and dial *77.
Version 0.3 has no text-to-speech: upload ready recordings.
Music on hold
On the “Music on hold” tab, you put together music categories. Callers hear this music when they are put on hold or wait in a queue. The category for the whole PBX is chosen in “General settings” → “Calls and recording”, in the “Music on hold” field; for a queue, in the queue’s settings.
Announcements
An announcement is a recording that is played to the caller before the call is sent on: for example, that the company is closed until Monday. Announcements are in “Routing” → “Announcements”:
- “Sound” — a recording from the library;
- “Times to play” — 1 to 5;
- “Then” — where to send the call after the recording.
Language for callers
Callers hear the PBX’s system phrases — for example, a request to enter a PIN — in the language set in “General settings” → “General” → “Language for callers”: Russian or English. Upload your own recordings in Uzbek as the “Uzbek version”.
